ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 3

13:01 Reporter: kane lazarus 0 Responses
USA Today ran a story about Alvin and the Chipmunks 3: it sounds like Fox is looking for a new director. Anyway there’s something more interesting: the newspaper also claims Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 is expected to shoot in a seaside location, possibly Hawaii. Why on a seaside location? Well because the plot allegedly involves the chipmunks getting shipwrecked

The Amazing Spider-Man is an action-adventure-thriller movie of 2012 based on the previous super hero movie and the 4th Colombia Pictures Film but there is definitely something AMAZING in this movie

Andrew Garfield will be playing the role of Peter Parker and of course the Spider Man of the movie while Emma Stone will be playing as Gwen Stacy who has been Spider Man’s love interest since a very long time.
The villian of the movie, Van Adder played by Irrfan Khan in The Amazing Spider-Man is no new to the comic series of Spider Man but now the things are going to get more sweaty and spicy as Van Adder turns into a Super Villain - Proto-Goblin.

Grave Encounters (2011)

00:43 Reporter: kane lazarus 0 Responses

Lance Preston and the crew of "Grave Encounters", a ghost-hunting reality television show, are shooting an episode inside the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, where unexplained phenomena has been reported for years. All in the name of good television, they voluntarily lock themselves inside the building for the night and begin a paranormal investigation, capturing everything on camera. They quickly realize that the building is more than just haunted - it is alive - and it has no intention of ever letting them leave. They find themselves lost in a labyrinth maze of endless hallways and corridors, terrorized by the ghosts of the former patients. They soon begin to question their own sanity, slipping deeper and deeper into the depths of madness, ultimately discovering the truth behind the hospital's dark past...and taping what turns out to be their final episode.

APOLLO 18

00:29 Reporter: kane lazarus 0 Responses

Apollo 18 is a found footage-style film set in December 1974, about a post-Apollo 17 mission to the Moon that takes on a premise of why NASA discontinued the Apollo moon missions. The plot involves a government coverup of the Apollo 18 mission after parasitic lifeforms on the Moon discovered the crew and began to attack them. Much of the back-story remains unknown; however, the movie posters in English indicate the Russian KGB role in Soviet lunar conspiracy and the Russian movie posters show inscriptions in English suggesting an American government cover up in lunar conspiracy. In the trailer, an American astronaut finds a dead cosmonaut and a Soviet LK Lander on the lunar surface.
Apollo 18 is currently scheduled for release on September 2, 2011. Originally scheduled for March 2011, the film's release date was moved five times during the year

Cars 2 Review

01:54 Reporter: kane lazarus 0 Responses

When it comes to Pixar films, I think that we are allowed to hold them to a higher standard. Their traditionally high level of creativity has turned out one crowd-pleasing film after another. Their spark doesn't just come from the quality of the animation. It also comes from the storyteller's ability to weave threads of heartfelt friendships, dedicated teamwork, and can-do chutzpah. This is quite evident in the opening animated short, a treat in and of itself that precedes Pixar films. It's about Ken's & Barbie's first magical kiss that might never have happened if not for the heartfelt friendships, dedicated teamwork, and can-do chutzpah of the Toy Story gang. This vignette picks up after the end of "Toy Story 3". It's fresh and funny in so many ways and gives me hope that "Toy Story 4" may be in the works.

In my opinion, the "Cars" franchise is sort of the redheaded stepchild of the Pixar oeuvre. I thought that the original 2006 film was ok enough. And, if I took anything away from it, it was that old-school beliefs and tried-and-true icons deserved a place in modern America. Friendships were crafted, self-discovery occurred, and it was amiable enough.

"Cars 2" is still a good piece of entertainment but I wonder if it has jumped the shark. The film isn't even about Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson). Its focus is on his sidekick, Mater (voiced by Larry the Cable Guy) whose mouth has more RPMs than his engine can produce. It eventually gets McQueen and himself into all sorts of trouble when Mater's lack of tact embroils them in a feud against an Italian Formula 1 named Francesco Bernoulli (voiced by John Turturro); in a World Grand Prix that will showcase alternative energy fuel; and in an international spy adventure.

That all sounds good - until you hear Mater mumble and bumble in his some-will-like-it-some-will-not country bumpkin histrionics. Mater, sadly, could be the Jar-Jar Binks of the Pixar world. However, to counteract that, we are introduced to a new character, Finn McMissile (voiced by Michael Caine) who is a British Spy that believes that Mater is a top American Spy. Honestly, Michael Caine could be the voice of a blender, and I'd still be enthralled.

What the film has going for it is its level of high-quality animation as the film moves from Japan to Italy to London. Some of it looks amazingly lifelike. Its best scene doesn't involve Mater or McQueen but Luigi (the auto repair car) who goes back home to visit Mom and Dad. There is something emotionally human about this scene that doesn't exist anywhere else. The rest of it is just fast driving, fast talking, and fast thinking by McMissile.

This really isn't "Cars 2". It's more like "Mater's Tall Tales". Have you ever checked those out on YouTube? His eccentricities are funny for 6 minutes at a time but not so lovable in a 2-hour film. Admittedly, though, I am quite fond of "Tokyo Mater". And, I'm also fond of "Speed Racer", which seemed to be as eye-catching and fun without the "idiot card" being played all the time.

Latest Review of the new movie Sleeping Beauty

10:45 Reporter: kane lazarus 0 Responses

When it comes to arthouse film it's amazing how often sex and nudity go hand-in-hand with having something serious to say.

A more cynical type might think that this suggest a certain lack of confidence in finding an audience who wants to listen to what you have to say, and a lot of the time that's true. Not here though.

Australian novelist Julia Leigh's debut film isn't just packed with nudity - from about a third of the way in it's more surprising when a scene doesn't end with star Emily Browning getting naked – it's a film that's actually about the female form and it's effect on men.

Browning plays a university student who, we fairly quickly pick up as we follow her through her life, has money troubles and no trouble at all picking up men in bars.

This combination eventually leads her to a job at a lingerie-based catering service, where aged, well-off men pay to have topless women serve them classy grub.

Even this isn't enough to solve her money woes, and eventually she ends up taking a gig where she's drugged into unconsciousness, stripped, put in a bed, and used as a plaything by the aforementioned aged, well-off men.

... Who are also naked - just in case you were worried this was getting a bit too one-sided in its exploitation!

There's a lot going on here subtexturally – riffs on fairy tales, an examination of gender roles, questions about exploitation and so on – but to get to them you have to overlook a few problems on the textural level.

Sleeping Beauty's leisurely pace (most scenes play out in real time, with few cuts) feels forced, and large parts of the purposely oblique story fail to convince either as realism (the student grind feels sketchy) or as fantasy (the not-quite prostitution all takes place in a sub-Eyes Wide Shut realm of upper-class decadence).

What isn't in doubt is Browning's performance.

Naked both physically and emotionally, it’s a powerhouse effort that demands your attention even when the rest of Sleeping Beauty wavers.

Footloose-The Movie

14:56 Reporter: kane lazarus 0 Responses
Paramount Pictures has debuted the first trailer, poster and new images from the upcoming Footloose.

In the remake of the 1984 film, Ren MacCormack (played by newcomer Kenny Wormald) is transplanted from Boston to the small southern town of Bomont where he experiences a heavy dose of culture shock. A few years prior, the community was rocked by a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night out and Bomont's local councilmen and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) responded by implementing ordinances that prohibit loud music and dancing. Not one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges the ban, revitalizing the town and falling in love with the minister's troubled daughter Ariel (Julianne Hough) in the process.

Footloose, directed by Craig Brewer, is set for release on October 14th.

Spider man to release in 2012

06:22 Reporter: kane lazarus 0 Responses

Sony Pictures has released a picture of their new Spider-Man.(which seems to be really good)

American-British actor Andrew Garfield (Eduardo Saverin in The Social Network) will be playing the famous Spider-Man

Details on the new series have been scarce, but, here is what we at Mega Critic have heard.

First, what we’re sure of:

The cast will consist of Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben, Sally Field as Aunt May, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Connors/The Lizard, and Irrfan Khan as Van Atter/Proto-Goblin.
Mary Jane Watson will not be in this movie.
The movie will focus on Peter while he is in high school.
James Vanderbilt will be penning the script. He will be basing it on the Ultimate Spiderman storyline. Vanderbilt’s past writing credits include Darkness Falls, The Rundown, Zodiac, and The Losers.
Stan Lee will be having a cameo.

The movie will be filmed in 3-D.

The release date for the movie will be July 3, 2012.

So far, other than those factoids, Sony has released a few more photos other than Garfield as in his suit: one of Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and the other, Dennis Leary as NYPD police captain George Stacy. After analyzing all three photos, we spotted things that might shed some light on a few details.the movie is said to release in 2012..looks like this should be a good one,but lets just wait and see.

Well first of all There aren't enough parkour moves or any stand-out moves to elevate Fusion to the winner's circle. Its just basic stuff seen in another other dance movie. The Step Up series may not be great cinema, but at least it's smart enough to cast actors and teach them to dance.

The movie is out on some of the online sites you can watch on http://www.movs.eu
